Continuous-Time Ratio-metric Linear Hall Effect Sensor
◼ General Description
The OCH1910 is small, versatile linear Hall effect ⚫ Supply Voltage Range: 4.5V ~ 6.0V
devices which are operated by the magnetic field from a ⚫ High Reliability BCD Process
permanent magnet or an electromagnet. They are ⚫ Fast Power-on Time
optimized to accurately provide a voltage output that is ⚫ Power Consumption of 5mA at 5V Supply
proportional to an applied magnetic field. These devices
have a quiescent output voltage that is 50% of the supply ⚫ Single Current Sinking or Current Sourcing
The Hall-effect integrated circuit included in each ⚫ Linear Output For Circuit Design Flexibility
device includes a Hall sensing element, a linear amplifier, ⚫ Ratiometric Output for A/D Interface
and a CMOS Class AB output structure. Integrating the ⚫ Wide Sensible Magnetic Field Range on Different
Hall sensing element and the amplifier on a single chip

minimizes many of the problems normally associated with
low voltage level analog signals.

The integrated circuitry provides increased ⚫ Low Noise Output
temperature stability and sensitivity, for both linear target ⚫ Responds to Either Positive or Negative Gauss
motion and rotational motion. These linear position ⚫ Robust EMC Protection
sensors have an operating temperature range of -40°C to ⚫ Temperature Range of -40°C to +125°C
+125°C, appropriate for industrial environments. They ⚫ RoHS Compliant and Halogen free
respond to either positive or negative gauss, monitoring ⚫ Miniature Package SIP-3L
either or both magnetic poles. The quad Hall sensing
element minimizes the effects of mechanical or thermal ◼ Applications
stress on the output. The positive temperature coefficient ⚫ Current Sensing
of the sensitivity helps compensate for the negative ⚫ Motor Control
temperature coefficients of low cost magnets, providing a ⚫ Linear Position Sensing
robust design over a wide temperature range.
⚫ Magnetic Code Reading
The OCH1910 is available in SIP package, and is ⚫ Rotary Position Sensing
rated over the -40°C to +125°C. These packages are ⚫ Ferrous Metal Detector
available in a lead (Pb) free version.
